N*Satyr’s Ariadne (Antigone)

Since I had to have Finchen sterilized in December 2000 I have been absolutely sure I would continue to breed silver because this “colour” has accompanied me through my whole career as a breeder – I love this colour with all its variations and possibilities.

I did not necessarily need to find a silver “mouse” at once but I did start to look around. Naturally it had to be a black-silver-blotched-tabby female again; nothing else could be mentioned. The actual run for silver in Germany did not then and does still not please me that much even though this variation still caries in it so much breeding work in it. For me it is not enough the cat is classified as a silver cat!!! That is a totally different subject. Thus I asked myself how to find a silver “mouse” coming of really good lines and not being a result of inbreeding – and from a breeder who has been breeding with silver for a rather long period and so on.

If it was chance or destiny: I found Antigone in Norway at a breeder who has been breeding for a very long period of time and breeding with silver for almost as long – a breeder who not just subject herself to a whim of fashion.

When I discovered Antigone on her homepage I almost had a heart attack – my Finchen looked back at me in a modern version but the look – the expression - incredible!!! I was fascinated and knew: you have to write to Norway at once and ask if there is any chance at all to be a part of the final for this magic “mouse” since she most likely would already be sold. But sometimes destiny means it well by you and I could fly to Norway and bring back my silver “mouse”.

Antigone is rather big and powerful for her age with a strong boning. She has very high legs an incredible long body and a suitable tale. Her profile is absolutely straight, the ears still a bit high on her head but beautifully haired. Her temper is fantastic, out of this world; she is incredibly affectionate and extremely self-conceited. I have to wait and see how this young female develops and I am happy to be able to watch this development.
