Små Troll’s Sofie (Fine)

I have been looking for Fine for 2 whole years more or less all over Europe. I found her almost around the corner in Hagen with the family Osthoff.

Since I had to accept having my Minüchen sterilized it was quite clear to me: I wanted a silver-blotched-tabby female without white. Easier said than done!! I know many people will say the Norwegian Forest Cat is not bred or judged by colour. It is correct but I have eyes in my head. And love some colours more than others, so why buy an animal which colour I did not like.

Then I received the phone call from the Osthoff’s – Your cat is born! I could not believe it. Is it with silver? Yes! Is it blotched tabby? Yes! Without white? Yes! It is also a girl with a straight profile? Yes! Incredible I could hardly understand my luck. 6 weeks later a friend and I drove to Hagen to see my Fineken. At once I knew – that lovely kitten is mine.

Finchen is a very strong female Norwegian Forest Cat with strong legs, an incredible clear silver, no rufism, and a perfect tabby marking. She has given birth to 6 healthy children and given her lavish silver to four of them. Unfortunately I listened to other breeders and did not hold on to her first and, sadly enough, only silver daughter. Today she is a 6.5 kilo heavy and extremely big female Norwegian Forest Cat.

After her two first litters I tried to mate her with my red cat Barca but unfortunately she could have no more babies – for three long years I have hoped to have a silver tortie girl after Fine but all my hope led to no result. She had a big cyst on her uterus and therefore no possibility to have more children. And taken into account that Fine is the best possible mother at all. She adopts and nurse the kittens from my other cats and take care of the kittens as if they were her own kittens; sometimes life is not just but we have to submit to fate.

Now Fine has been sterilized, she still sleeps in my bed and continues to take motherly care of the other kittens which she loves so much. Fine is something very special and I am grateful for learning to know her.
